GOProud Endorses Sean Bielat

GOProud, a national organization of gay and straight conservatives, announced their endorsement of Sean Bielat for Congress this week.

Sean Bielat, known for his business background and close 2010 race to defeat Barney Frank, was honored to receive their support once again in 2012.

"GOProud understands the importance of working together to support free markets, limited government and individual rights," said Sean Bielat. "I'm honored to be one of only 24 candidates for the House that they are supporting in 2012."

Bielat, a businessman, family man and U.S. Marine running for the Fourth Congressional District, is campaigning on a platform of economic growth and job creation, deficit reduction and national security.

"Government has the responsibility of supporting the the individual and civil rights of all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation," continued Bielat.

"This is the most important election in a generation," said Jimmy LaSalvia, Co-Founder and Executive Director of GOProud. "We are thrilled to be supporting so many high-quality conservative candidates all across the country."

Sean Bielat is a businessman, family man and serves in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He currently runs www.OneClickPolitics.com , an online start-up. Prior to his 2010 campaign against Barney Frank, Sean led a $100 million defense robotics program at iRobot Corporation. The son of a teacher and a veteran, Sean grew up in a middle class family and worked his way through college and graduate school with the help of the GI Bill, scholarships and student loans. Sean holds an MBA from Wharton and degrees from Harvard University and Georgetown University.

Sean and his wife, Hope, met in graduate school at Harvard and have been married for six years. They live in Norfolk with their toddler son, Theodore, infant daughter, Seraphina, and rescue cat, Coolidge.
