Hillers Sports Update 10-18-2016

-Hillers Boys Soccer fell on the road against Holliston 4-1. Holliston improves to 10-3-0 (20 points) while Hillers are now 5-8-1 (11 points)

-Hillers Girls tied Holliston at the Fruit St. Fields 0-0. Hillers girls are now 2-7-5 (9 points), Holliston is 5-3-5 (15 points).

-Hillers Field Hockey grabbed a 2-0 win over Hopedale. The playoff bound Hillers stand at 9-3-2 (20 Points).

Contributed Updates:

-The Middle School girls' soccer team beat Millis yesterday 6-0. The team came out strong and dominated with goals scored by Natalie Morgan, Brooke Farrell and Hannah Quinlan. Chloe Johnson left her mark on defense with her aggressive attacking and Caroline Connell controlled the midfield.. The girls play again Wednesday in Newton at 4:30.

- On Thursday, October 13, the Hillers Middle School Cross Country teams earned a pair of wins on the road against Medway. The girls won, 19-44. Sarah Furlong, Lauren Coccio, Cat Kelleigh, and Caroline Flanagan ran exceptional races for the Hillers.

The boys ran in packs to defeat Medway, 21-36. Jack Watson, Luke Dionne, Liam Keohane, and Riley Finnegan helped to run down the Mustangs.

Back at home on Monday, October 17, 27 boys and 21 girls ran personal best times on the course despite the unseasonably warm day. The boys picked up another win, 23-34. Strong pack running again boosted the Hillers, as they placed second through fifth, then ninth through 15th. Anthony McCarthy stepped up with a fifth place finish, while Brady Murphy, Tyler Holbrow, and Devan Donnelly also ran solid personal bests.

The girls fell by only a point, 27-28, but got the individual win with Kiki Fossbender clocking 11:58 to make her the third fastest Hopkinton girl ever on the 1.9 mile course. The rest of the Hillers paced well and moved up over the second half of the race. Rachel Nordling, Ava Whelan, and Mackenzie Holmes sped to personal best times also.

The Hillers will compete in their final regular season meet on Thursday at home against Holliston.

- Despite a slow start, the HMS boys' soccer team won yesterday 6-2 versus Millis. Evan Theodorou, Ethan Champlain, Jesse Chambers and Russell DeMarco scored goals. Cam Richardson, Christian Covino and Tom Guerra played a solid game.
