The mantra “welcome home” lies at the heart of what the Hopkinton Center for the Arts provides its community of artists, teachers, students and patrons– a safe place for artistic expression, exploration and growth.

When that safety is threatened by the unsettling threat of a pandemic, we must respond calmly, with clarity and conviction that we are taking appropriate measures to protect you and your families who have supported our mission over the years.

Although we know of no person with COVID-19 who visited the center, all classes, events, and performances have been cancelled and the HCA will be closed through April 3rd, with the exception of private music/art lessons.

With regards to classes, this decision may result in a few classes within our current semester to be cancelled. It will also alter the start and end dates for Spring session, which you will see updated online later this week. We will send out an email to registered students to alert them of the plan for their class(es).

The HCA is more than four walls – it is the family of artists, students, teachers, patrons and community leaders from throughout MetroWest who are the heartbeat of this vibrant arts center.

The staff and teachers, like your family, depend on the guarantee of a regular income and benefits; the HCA, like your home, has ongoing and deferred maintenance and utility needs that must continue amid this pandemic.

We recognize that theater tickets and class enrollment is an investment by you and your family in the high-quality instruction and professionalism the HCA provides. With that we invite each patron who has been inconvenienced by a cancellation to consider, instead of a reimbursement, a reinvestment in our mission by donating your class fee or ticket price to help underwrite the ongoing operating costs of the HCA.

If you have any specific questions, it’s best to reach out to us via email to info@hopartscenter.org

From our family to yours, stay healthy and safe and know the front doors of the HCA will be welcoming you back home soon. Thank you!
