The Hopknton Varsity Cheerleaders will be representing Hopkinton High School at the 2012 United Sates Spirit Nationals at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. While they are very fortunate to have a chance to compete, this also means that they will need to finance the trip for 19 athletes and two chaperones. The estimated cost of the trip is approximately $18,000.
For the first time in school history, the team placed in the top 3 out of over 50 teams in the state in the Division 2 State Championship and was recognized by the state of Massachusetts with a trophy. In addition to a record finish, the Hiller Cheerleaders also captured the South Section Division 2 Cheerleading Championship with a record breaking team high score of 92.5 out of a possible 100.
"We are asking for your support on our first fundraiser for the trip," said the cheerleaders.
The squad will be creating a Program Book for the Basketball and Cheer Teams that will include a weekly raffle. One prize per week will be raffled off during the basketball season beginning in January. Raffles will be sold in various locations throughout town and at home basketball games.
The cheerleaders will also be selling advertising in the Program Book.
