The Hopkinton High School Athletic Hall of Fame 5th Induction Ceremony November 5th

Total of nineteen inductees over eight decades, between 1935 and 2007.

There is a father and son duo being inducted in this class. From the class of 1935, Duncan Hamilton, a star football and basketball player. His son, DP, class of 1967, was a 3 sport standout in football, basketball and baseball.

From the 1940’s, the inductees include Mary Bernard, class of 1940, Richard ‘Mike’ McBride, class of 1945, and Eleanor Pierce, class of 1942. Mary was a standout basketball player on some of the early teams of Coach Marion Harris and continued playing at Framingham State where she was a multiple year captain. Mike was a 3 sport standout, a star on a number of Chick Welch’s football teams from 1941 through 1944, as well as a star basketball and baseball player, and a long time Hopkinton police officer. Eleanor Pierce, class of 1942, was another star on many of Coach Marion Harris’ basketball and softball teams, each team being undefeated in her senior season.

From the class of 1957, Gerry Brodeur. He played basketball and baseball but was best known as a star football player who continued his career in college at Columbia University.

Albie Harris, class of 1964, joins DP Hamilton from the 1960’s. He was another 3 sport standout. And Sue Beavers, class of 1965, who played and coached multiple sports over a number of years, and later served as Athletic Director.

From the 1970’s, the inductees include a man and woman who both have a father and brother who have previously been inducted. Charlie Hill, class of 1974, was a standout football, basketball and baseball player, who continued his football career at Mass Maritime. Lisa Doyle Carloni, class of 1976, was a star field hockey, basketball and softball player, and played field hockey, lacrosse and rugby during her career at Brown University.

The inductees from the 1980’s include a trio of standout football players from the class of 1985 and some of Coach Dave Hughes’ best teams. Richie Schiloski was one of the finest running backs in HHS history. Mike Mansir was a standout fullback and linebacker on these teams. And Kevin Pitts was also a standout lineman on these teams and was a three time TVL lineman of the year.

The 1990’s inductees include Heath Walker, class of 1991, and Jenn Britz, class of 1995. Heath was a great wide receiver in football and a solid basketball player. He continued his football career at UConn. Jenn was an All-American track and field athlete, one of Coach Scanlon’s best ever, who continued her career in college.

The inductees from the 2000’s include Mark Ostrander, Class of 2004, a star three sport athlete who played baseball at UMaine, and Keegan Bradley, also Class of 2004, who was a member of the 2003 State Championship golf team coached by Dick Bliss and continued his golf career at St. John’s and on the PGA Tour. The women include Katie Hoppe, class of 2004, another top track and field athlete on a number of top teams fielded by Coach Scanlon, and Kim Donovan, class of 2007, another member of the 2003 State Championship golf team who played golf at Duke University.

The Banquet is being held at the St. John’s Parish Center, Church Street, Hopkinton, MA on Saturday November 5, 2016, starting at 6:30 PM.
