The Town of Hopkinton, Parks and Recreation Department, seeks the following Seasonal Summer positions below:
SEASONAL SUMMER POSITIONS Hourly Pay Ranges*
Head Lifeguard $14.00 - $16.00
Life Guard $12.12 - $14.00
Head Counselor (Sports Group or Kids Group) $13.55 - $15.01
Counselors (Sports Group or Kids Group) $11.00 - $12.50
Parking Lot Attendant $11.00 - $12.50
Program Supervisor $13.55 - $15.01

The programs will provide a fun, engaging and safe environment for the residents who enroll in the summer activities. Activities will feature a variety of outdoor and indoor summertime activities for kids.
 Applicants under 18 years of age must obtain a work permit from your school’s high school office. 

SUMMER PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The Summer Program Coordinator will be responsible for the overall organization and supervision of the Parks and Recreation outdoor summer programs. This will include the management and supervision of Summer Counselors, Lifeguards, and seasonal beach employees. The Coordinator will be responsible for providing a fun, engaging and safe environment for the residents who enroll in the summer activities. Activities will feature a variety of outdoor and indoor summertime activities for kids. The goal is to deliver high quality customer service and grow and retain summer enrollment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages counselors and ensures positive participant experience
• Prepares daily activity schedules, and ensures counselors implement daily activities
• Creates weekly staff schedule to ensure counselor/participant ratio is safe
• Ensures safety of participants in daily programs
• Organizes field trips and coordinates all logistics
• Assists with general duties throughout the day
• Coaches counselors with assistance from the Department Head
• Assesses individual performance, provides feedback to counselors
• Demonstrates positive attitude and actions through courtesy, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity and professionalism at all times
Qualifications:
• Four (4) year college degree and Administrative experience in the recreation field
• Experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for summer recreation activities
• Physical ability and endurance to be outdoors all day participating in programs while supervising staff
• Ability to work collaboratively with a large group of counselors to ensure the enhancement of programs

Hourly Pay Range: $18 - $24*

*The hourly pay ranges are depending upon qualifications.
