Hopkinton Police Seeking Part Time Dispatcher

Under general guidance of the Dispatch Supervisor and direction of the Chief of Police, the Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and transmitting emergency and administrative messages to appropriate law enforcement, fire and emergency personnel in the manner dictated by the State mandated Emergency Medical Dispatch protocol, and department policy. This position involves the use of discretion, independent judgment, and initiative, and must operate within established mandated state and departmental guidelines and procedures. Position receives, has access to, and must maintain confidential information. Must possess detailed knowledge of the location of streets, buildings, and other significant area of the community in order to minimize response time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED, experience in emergency response communications, or related fields. Must have excellent vision and hearing accuracy, and must be able to process verbal information/direction in a concise manner. Confidentiality, strong attention to detail, and superior customer service skills a must.

CERTIFICATIONS:
E911, LEAPS, APCO Emergency Medical Dispatch, APCO PST1 are preferred.
