Dear Veterans and Friends:

Hopkinton veterans will gather for breakfast on 4 January 2019, at 0900 hours, at the Senior Center to enjoy great chow, and top notch camaraderie.

Our comrades who passed away during December will be remembered, and the condition of those who are on "Sick Call" will be updated. It is encouraging that several veterans are generous with their time, and visit and/or send cards to our ailing buddies. More of us should do this. Keep up the good work!

A few comments after breakfast will recall memories of military events that previously occurred on January 4th; for example, in 1944, USA aircraft began dropping supplies to guerrilla forces throughout Western Europe.

Other announcements will keep you abreast of Hopkinton happenings relating to veterans.

A free breakfast and lunch will be awarded to the first person who correctly answers the monthly baseball quiz: what professional athlete played for 3 different teams in the same city? Hint: it was not in New York City.

Hopkinton veterans with transportation difficulties should call Amy Beck on/before 2 January 2019, 508 497-9730. Please encourage other Hopkinton Vets to attend the breakfast.

American Legion McDonough-Carlberg Post 202 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and bless the meal.

See you Friday. Out.
