Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The DPW will conduct a Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at the DPW Garage at 83 Wood Street. Hopkinton residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste that they have in their households that they cannot dispose of. There is no fee for this one day event. It is limited to Hopkinton residents that can prove their residency. There is a 25 pound limit per household and residents are limited to one trip to dispose of their hazardous waste.

In general, the DPW will accept oil based paints, turpentine, stains, gasoline, poisons, pesticides, cleaning supplies, swimming pool chemicals, aerosol cans, and propane tanks. The DPW will not accept latex paint, ammunition, fireworks, explosives, prescription medicines, syringes, smoke detectors, tires, asbestos, batteries, computers, or electronics.
