Hiring Salary: $19.03 - $22.84 hourly, depending on qualifications

Hours generally: M - F, 7:30 am - 4 pm, Overtime Required.
Responds to emergency calls during and after normal business hours.
Must be available for nights, weekends and holidays.

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Custodian will perform routine building and grounds
maintenance and general custodian activities for town buildings and perform minor semi-skilled building repairs. The
individual is an Emergency Contact and First Responder to building security alarms and for building fire alarms in the
absence of another Facilities Team Member.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience
● Equivalent to High School diploma and two years’ experience performing building custodial and maintenance in
a business setting or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Knowledge of: Equipment, materials and procedures used in building custodial services and building and
grounds maintenance. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems and understand how
they work.
● Ability to: Prioritize and complete multiple tasks at one time with frequent interruptions, identify needs for
repairs; operate and service light power equipment; follow written or verbal instructions.
● Skill: Organizational, interpersonal/collaborative communication, resourcefulness and discretion; computer
skills that encompass effective use of word processing, email, and internet browser. Skill in the use of custodial
and maintenance power and hand tools.
● Required Licensing/Certification: A valid U.S. Driver’s License and good driving record.
