Dear Hopkins and Hopkinton families,

I am writing to share with you the news that I have been offered, and I have accepted, the position of Principal at the Woodland Elementary School in Milford.

I am very excited and humbled by this opportunity to lead a new school in my hometown and community. However, my excitement is balanced by a sadness of leaving Hopkins and Hopkinton after this school year. I am so very proud to work for this school and community. I will miss our students greatly, and regret not being able to see them continue to grow and flourish in and out of the classroom. I also have a profound respect for the Hopkins faculty. There is no more talented or dedicated group of professionals, and we have some really wonderful things happening at Hopkins due to their skill and passion for our students.

Dr. MacLeod and I will be working together to ensure a smooth transition for the next Principal of the Hopkins School. She will be sharing details of the search process and the timeline to hire my replacement over the next few days. I will work with the chosen candidate to make the transition process as seamless and positive as possible.

I would like to thank the students and families of Hopkins and Hopkinton for the understanding and kindness you have shared with me over the last few weeks since I first shared the news of my potential departure. Your graciousness has been appreciated.

Respectfully,
Tim Kearnan
