FRAMINGHAM, MA – Keefe Regional Technical High School students placed in the top ten in a competition at the annual Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership conference, held in Boston from May 5 - 8, 2016 at the Sheraton Boston Copley Place and the Hynes Convention Center.

Keefe Tech senior Christopher Rossini of Holliston took second place in SQL Database Fundamentals. Senior Kevin Guzman of Framingham also placed in the top ten for SQL Database Fundamentals.

“Our BPA chapter was so proud to see two of our own students recognized on stage as the top in the country in their event. All of their hard work preparing for the state level and then the national competition has paid off with this recognition of their abilities. Participating in BPA has given Chris and Kevin experience that they’ll use as they move on to postsecondary education,” noted Margaret Ellis, Keefe Tech BPA Chapter Advisor.
Seven students from Keefe Tech participated in the national conference, which brought together more than 6,000 students from across the country to compete, showcase their business skills and develop their leadership acumen.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for high school, college and middle school students preparing for careers in business and information technology. The annual National Leadership Conference is the culmination of the BPA year and consists of four days of competitions, leadership development, workshops, and National Officer elections.

Additionally, Keefe Tech student and Massachusetts BPA State Secretary Samara Rosa of Framingham participated in a Day of Service and a Special Olympics Walk to Fenway Park. The Walk to Fenway resulted in a new Guinness World Record for the largest group wearing tie-dyed shirts. The record-setting event, which filled Fenway’s center field bleachers with a record 1,500 participants, included students, advisors, alumni and partners of the BPA organization from 25 states across the country and Puerto Rico.
