Over 100 local elected officials from across the Fifth District have joined together to endorse Karen Spilka's campaign for Congress. Comprised of school board members, library trustees, selectmen, and state representatives and senators, these men and women are backing Karen as the clear choice to go to Washington to fight for Massachusetts families. As elected officials, these individuals have worked alongside Karen and know firsthand her drive, her determination and her commitment to doing the right thing for Massachusetts.

“I am so humbled to have so many of my colleagues and friends supporting me for Congress,” said Karen. "Together, we’ve won some real fights on behalf of Massachusetts families and it’s so gratifying to have their backing in this campaign. I’m running for Congress because it isn’t working for the middle class and I want to continue standing up to the banks, the insurance companies and the entrenched special interests just like I have on Beacon Hill."

"Karen Spilka has been an incredible partner in the Senate and has accomplished so much for our communities as a school board member, state representative and now Majority Whip," said State Representative Tom Sannicandro. "She is known as a tenacious legislator who never stops working to do the right thing for her constituents and our state as a whole. The breadth and depth of her legislative track record is unparalleled; she's been an extraordinary advocate for our innovation economy, for women, for the disabilities community, for children and our schools, for seniors and for the middle class. Karen has proven herself to be the best possible person we could send to represent us in Congress. I am thrilled to be endorsing her and will be working very hard on her behalf for the next four weeks."

Representative Chris Walsh said, "I have witnessed first-hand how hard Karen Spilka works on behalf of Massachusetts families. She has taken on some of the most powerful special interest groups in our state to fight for the middle class. She is someone who doesn't back down, and there is no tougher fighter for Massachusetts families than Karen."

"I am thrilled to be endorsing Karen Spilka for Congress,” said Dennis Giombetti, Chair of the Framingham Board of Selectmen. "She is without a doubt one of the best legislators we've ever sent to Beacon Hill and she is an incredibly strong fighter for our communities. She has been a fantastic partner and I look forward to sending her to Congress so she can continue fighting for us."

Added Kathy Bartolini, Southborough Planning Board member, “Karen Spilka has been a tireless fighter for MetroWest and I have enjoyed working with her to win real results for our communities. Karen is someone who is very accessible, always listens, and won't back down when she knows something is unfair to Massachusetts families.”
