Retire Your Worn Flag

What do you do with your torn, soiled, faded US and State flags?

Massport can help you solve this problem.

We hold a flag retirement ceremony on or near Flag Day (June 14th) every year. The ceremony this year begins promptly at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 14th, and all are welcome to attend. The location is at Logan Airport on Harborside Drive, just past the Hyatt Hotel. You will see a sign on the sidewalk for the event. Parking is free. Families are welcome.

During this ceremony all torn, soiled, faded flags are honorably retired in a formal, respectful way.

The formal ceremony is relatively short, with a single, exemplar flag retired. At the conclusion of the formal ceremony we all pitch in to solemnly and respectfully dispose of the hundreds of flags we receive every year.

Flags to be retired can be from government entities, businesses, or residences.

Flags can be dropped off at the Massport Fire Station on Harborside Drive at Logan Airport or at the security desk in the Logan Office Center, also on Harborside Drive.

Flags can also be mailed to the Security Office, One Harborside Drive, Suite 200 S, Boston, MA 02128.
