Seeking Finance Director

The Town of Hopkinton seeks a FT, experienced finance and accounting professional excited about the profession and who enjoys long range, strategic financial planning, to join a dynamic team of professionals in the management of the Town’s fiscal responsibilities. In this role, the Finance Director/Accountant will report directly to, and works closely with, the Town Manager to prepare the Town’s annual budget, departmental budgets, and financial statements; administers, supervises, and monitors the Town’s accounting, budgeting, investing, debt management, and reporting activities; as well as general oversight of the Treasurer/Collector and Principal Assessor offices. As the newest member of the team, this individual will also be responsible for the development and implementation of all fiscal aspects of the Town’s strategic plan; consensus building and working collaboratively throughout the organization with the Town Manager, department heads, boards and committees.

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting; a Certified Municipal Officer or Certified Public Accountant designation is highly desirable. Eight (8) years experience in a responsible government position with particular emphasis on financial and governmental operations, planning and automated financial systems. Combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
