HOPKINTON, MA (September 23, 2014) – All creatures great and small – including furry friends or feathered fowl -- are invited to receive a special blessing at St. Paul’s 23nd Annual Blessing of the Animals on October 5.

Dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and other beloved pets, as well as their human friends, are invited to a special ceremony being held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 61 Wood Street (Rte 135) in Hopkinton. (If it is not possible to bring the pet, bring a photo or trinket such as a collar or bowl.) Animals which passed away in the past year will also be remembered with a special prayer and their photos, which will be collected before the service.

The Blessing of the Animals will take place outside the church at 10:45 a.m, followed by a “Pet Friendly” service of the Holy Eucharist . All are welcome to attend. Sunday School will not be held on this date.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is called to be an embracing, nourishing and life-giving family in Christ. St. Paul’s members believe they are called to care for each other, for the community and for the world. For more information call 508-435-4536 or visit St. Paul’s website at www.stpaulhopkinton.org.
