Town of Hopkinton’s Public Library seeks a Substitute Library Technician

The Library Technician will perform all tasks related to the daily operations of the Library and the circulation desk. Assists in opening and closing of the Library. Retrieves and checks in all Library materials from the drop off boxes outside the Library. Collects overdue and lost item fines, handles on-line museum pass reservation requests, provides assistance to patrons locating materials, resolves patron account related issues and answers phone inquiries. Performs other duties as required.

This position will fill in when regular staff members are on vacation or out sick. Hours vary depending on the need. This position requires working every other Saturday starting in September 2016 and ending in early June 2017.

Qualifications - Applicants must meet the following to be considered qualified for this position:
• High School diploma
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to handle office equipment such as a copier and fax machine
• Proficiency in using Microsoft products and other Library applications
• 1 to 2 year(s) experience at a circulation desk using Library system preferred

Hiring Pay Range: $11.89 – $12.88 hourly
