Urbanity Dance, Boston’s leading contemporary dance company, is hosting auditions for dancers aged 11-24 for its Summer Intensive program, running July 27-August 14 in Boston’s historic South End. Upcoming auditions take place at Urbanity Dance headquarters (1180 Washington St., #100, Boston) on April 19, 2015 from 1:30-3:00 pm.

Under the leadership of founder and director Betsi Graves, Urbanity’s Summer Intensive draws talent from around the nation who seek to learn from some of the dance industry’s most prominent educators and performers. Faculty members hail from leading companies and schools throughout the country, and include notable names such as Ellenore Scott of So You Think You Can Dance, Ebony Williams of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” music video, Jacyln Walsh of Pilobolus, Emmy nominee Teddy Florence, and Boston Ballet’s Paul Craig, amongst others.

Students accepted into the Summer Intensive program can choose to attend for two or three weeks, and a residential program is available for those who are not near enough to the city to commute. In addition to training with renowned faculty, students receive career counseling and performance opportunities.

Prospective auditionees interested in auditioning may attend the live audition in Boston on April 19 or submit a video audition. The live audition functions as a class, so all attendees receive the benefit of Urbanity training in addition to auditioning for the program. There is an audition fee of $30 per person or $25 person for groups of three or more.

Studios and schools interested in hosting a private group audition at Urbanity or their home studios can also contact Urbanity to inquire about scheduling an appointment.
