Virginia W. Mahar, 87

Virginia W. Mahar, 87, of Hopkinton, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Matalives) and Joseph Nogelo. She was the wife of the late James P. Mahar who passed in 1988.

Virginia was a member at the Hopkinton Senior Center and volunteered at the Michael Lisnow Respite Center. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, walking and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Peter J. Mahar and his wife Keri Marshall of East Kingston, NH, and Thomas J. Mahar and his wife Marianne of Bellingham. She also leaves her loving partner of 21 years, Francis Seariac of Hopkinton; 6 grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth, Molly, Thomas, Benjamin and Amanda, and 2 great-grandchildren, Calen and Cedar as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Maryellen Mahar who passed in 2010 and 2 brothers, Anthony and Joseph Nogelo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st from 5-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St.: www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00a.m. at St. Matthew's Church in Southborough with burial following at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael Lisnow Respite Center, 112 Main St. Hopkinton, MA 01748.
