Paul Clerici Presents "Boston Marathon: History by the Mile"

Local author Paul C. Clerici will be at the Hopkinton Senior Center on Wednesday, March 30 at 7:00 PM to talk about his popular book, “Boston Marathon: History by the Mile.”

The award-winning writer takes readers through the entire colorful 26.2-mile journey, mile by mile, town by town, story by story. With his unique, vast array of experience and knowledge as a 23-time Boston Marathon runner and 30-plus-year sports journalist, Clerici brings the great race to life through informative, humorous, and enlightening detail.

The Hopkinton Democratic Caucus (HDC) held their local caucus at town hall on March 24th.

The HDC elected to support the following slate on the town's local ballot on May 16th.

Live 4 Evan Leases Boston Apartment for Families of Cardiac Patient at Hospital

Hopkinton’s Live4Evan recently expanded into the Boston’s Longwood Galleria, leasing an apartment for families of cardiac patients at Children’s Hospital. Founded in honor of Evan Girardi by his Hopkinton High classmates after his untimely death in 2010, Live4EEvan works to spread “heart happiness.” The group’s mission is to improve quality of life for patients and their families affected by cardiac disease.

Hopkinton's First Edible Book Festival

Girl Scout Junior Troop 65040 invites the community to this free, inaugural event, which will be held on Friday April 1, beginning at 4:00 PM at St. John's Parish Hall, 20 Church St.

To enter, bring an edible creation that relates to books or reading to St. John's at 4:00 PM. Prizes and bragging rights will be awarded to the winner of each category: 1) Children, 2) Adult/Child Pair or Family, 3) Adult.

Winners will be announced shortly after 5:00pm. You don’t have to enter the event, just come to see the entries and vote!

Pave the Patio Fundraiser for the Hopkinton Center for the Arts

Leave your mark and forever be a part of the creativity and vision of the Hopkinton Center for the Arts!

The pavers will be part of a new 40x56 foot patio and outdoor stage that will be built outside the Delbridge Family Performance Space. It will soon be the setting for the HCA's popular jazz concerts and "Shakespeare Under the Stars" summer performance.

Two sizes of pavers can be purchased and engraved with a name or a message. Pavers purchased by April 1st will be installed prior to the Opening Ceremony of the patio in Spring 2016.

Annual Hopkinton High School Honors Art Exhibit at HCA March 30th - April 22nd

The annual "Hopkinton High School Honors Art Exhibit" will host their opening night Wednesday March 30th, 6:30-7:30pm at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. The exhibit will be on display until April 22nd. The display will feature art work created by students at Hopkinton High School. During the opening night you will be able to meet some of the student artists and see the many great works of art on display.

Elaine Lazarus Promoted, Jennifer Burke to Planning Board

Elaine Lazarus has been promoted to the Director of Land Use and Town Operations Position. Elaine has worked for Hopkinton since 1992 and has been Director of Land Use Planing and Permitting for the past 6 years. Elaine will continue land use duties as well as provide additional duties such as board support, animal control and grant writing.

Jennifer Burke will provide staff support to the Planning Board. Burke started working for Hopkinton 9 months ago and previously served as Planning Director for the Town of Hudson for 11 years.
