Keefe Tech Awarded Grant for "Reality Check" Fair

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Keefe Regional Technical School Business Technology instructor
Margaret Ellis was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Massachusetts State Treasurer’s
Financial Education Innovation Fund to host a “Reality Check” Fair on October 16, 2015, from
8:00 am to noon at the school. Additionally, TD Bank has added a $1,000 sponsorship to the
“Reality Check” Fair. The program, offered for the first time this year at Keefe, provides an
exciting and effective opportunity for members of the senior class to learn how to make realworld

Hopkinton Police Drug Take-Back Day September 26th, 10am-2pm

The Hopkinton Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public another opportunity to prevent pull abuse or theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your medications for disposal to Hopkinton Police Headquarters at 74 Main Street, Hopkinton, MA, Saturday September 26th between 10am and 2pm. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Golf Team goes 6-1 with Win Over Millis

The Varsity team ran their record today to 6-1 with a convincing win over Millis by the score of 253 – 320. Leading the way for the Hillers today was Sr. Aidan Curry who shot a nice round of 40 –Kyle Schlicke and Nathan Tuite both shot 41’s – Chris Hadley and Jonathan Simmer ( both playing in their first varsity match ) both shot nice scores of 43’s – Dario Venuto shot 45 – Stephen Auslander had a 46 and Nick Scire shot a 47. Everyone has the day off tomorrow because of the Jewish Holiday.

Deputy Fire Chief Stephen T. Slaman Receives Accreditation Through the Massachusetts Fire Services Commission

The Massachusetts Fire Service Commission granted accreditation to Deputy Fire Chief Stephen T. Slaman of the Hopkinton Fire Department on 15 September 2015 who has demonstrated the required fire service experience, education, and certifications for accreditation.

Golf Whipped Wolverines, Soccer Ties Raiders

The Hiller Varsity Golf Team defeated Westwood today by a score of 251-261. The Varsity record is now 5-1. The Varsity will play at home on Tuesday, Sept. 22 vs. Millis. Today’s scores are as follows:

St Paul's will host annual "blessing of the animals" October 4th

Creatures of all species – including four-legged friends or feathered fowl -- are invited to receive a special blessing at St. Paul’s Annual Blessing of the Animals on October 4.

Dogs, cats, and others of God’s creatures – and their human friends – are invited to a special ceremony being held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 61 Wood Street (Rte 135) in Hopkinton. The Blessing of the Animals will take place outside the church at 10:00 a.m., followed by a “Pet Friendly” service of the Holy Eucharist. All are welcome to attend.

Water Main Break on East Main Street

Please be advised that a construction crew broke a water main on East Main Street this morning. As a result, there may be air and discoloration throughout the system in the center, Southern and Eastern portions of town. We are flushing hydrants to help alleviate the issue. Please check your water before using it and you may need to flush your cold water line to clear your internal pipes.

Part-Time Opening at HCAM-TV

Interested in local Government? HCAM is looking for a part-time Government Meetings Producer to oversee our coverage of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board Meetings.

Work with our newest equipment bringing live coverage to our community. These meetings occur on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with an average of six evenings per month. Hours are about 6:00 pm until the the meetings end, usually between 9:00 and 11:00 pm.
