Joseph F. Irvine, Sr. 72

Joseph F. Irvine Sr., 72, of Hopkinton, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Whittier Rehabilitation Center in Westborough. Born in Framingham, he was the beloved son of the late Hazel (Luigi) and Arthur Irvine. He was the husband of the late Susan (Daniels) Irvine and the late Doris (Wright) Irvine.

Hopkinton Holiday Stroll Revitalized for 2013

Businesses and nonprofit organizations in Hopkinton have come together to revive the Hopkinton Holiday Stroll on December 7, 2013. Sixteen Hopkinton businesses and organizations are sponsoring the day’s events, which will include charitable drives, the annual downtown Tree Lighting ceremony, traveling Christmas carolers, a visit from Santa, sleigh rides through downtown and onto Hayden Rowe Street, performances of A Charlie Brown Christmas, and myriad food and drink tastings, music performances, special sales, and family activities.

Fire Flow Test Thursday, Dec. 5

Please be advised that a required fire flow test will take place on East Main Street near the Clinton Street intersection on Thursday December 5th at approximately 9:30 AM. This test is re-scheduled from last week. You may notice some discoloration during and after the test. Please avoid doing any laundry, dishwasher loads or other water use activities, during this time. Any discoloration that may occur will eventually dissipate. You may need to run the water in your home to flush your internal pipes once the test is complete.

School Buildings Experience Phone Disruption

As you may already be aware, we are experiencing problems with our telephone service. The Middle School, Student Services, Buildings and Grounds, and Central Office have no service at this time. The cause of this issue has not yet been determined. Should you need immediate assistance, please e-mail the appropriate facility or person. E-mail addresses can be found on our web site.

Rachel DeMore Swims for Multiple Sclerosis

Rachel DeMore is diving into action to help raise awareness and funds to support individuals with multiple sclerosis by participating in an exciting fundraiser known as Swim for MS.

Rachel is joining volunteers all across the country to organize her own swim activity. Funds raised support the many vital programs and services offered by the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
