Hilller Sports: Powder Puff, Football and XC

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

Move over boys! November 16th was the girls' turn to be under the Friday Night lights for the annual Powder Puff game. The tradition, which started in Hopkinton in 2007, pits the Juniors against the Seniors for a flag football showdown. The Seniors, who have won every year since 2009, continued the tradition, cruising to a 56-39 victory. Replays of the game can be viewed on HCAM-ED, Verizon channel 31 or Comcast channel 96. Or, online here. For photos of the game, Click Here.

With a TVL title on the line, the stakes are high for the boys' team as they look to bounce back after a tough loss to Westwood with a win against Ashland in this year's Thanksgiving Day classic. The game, which is in Ashland this year, starts at 10am and takes place at Ashland High at at the new high school field at 65 East Union St. To accommodate the expected crowds, an optional shuttle service will run from Ashland Middle School, 87 West Union St., and bring fans to the high school. The shuttle will leave every 20 minutes starting at 8:40 a.m. Spectators who need to leave the game early, or who are coming from Hopkinton, should consider parking at the middle school and taking the shuttle to the game. Pickup and drop off will be at the front doors of each school.

In other sports news, both the boys' and the girls' Cross Country Teams had a successful meet at All States on the 17th. The boys all ran under 20 minutes to finish in 11th place. And Shelby Aarden finished 9th and medaled on the girls side. To see the full results for Hopkinton, Click Here.
