Hopkinton Farmer's Market Opens on Town Common on June 16

By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

Hoping to give the residents of Hopkinton and surrounding towns on opportunity to gather and buy locally grown produce in a convenient location, the new Hopkinton Farmer’s Market will open on the Town Common on Sunday June 16th. The move to the Common from its previous location at Weston Nurseries is the result of work spearheaded by Long Life Farm owner Laura Davis who hopes to improve community involvement.

The market will feature four vegetable and fruit farms, including Heirloom Harvest, Kelly’s Farm, The Pumpkin Farm and Long Life Farm, as well as other vendors providing grass fed beef, free range eggs and and bakery products. Also new this year will be Five Loaves Bakery, Narragansett Creamery, Wheatless Bliss, and Zoll Cellars. While the focus of the market is fresh produce, other activities are also planned, including activities for children. Each week the market will also feature a community tent, allowing local organizations yet another venue for community outreach. For opening day, June 16 Starting Line Studio will be in the children’s tent and Baypath Humane Society will be in the community tent.

To round out the market experience, Uxbridge First Night will be on hand each week, featuring delicious prepared food.

The Hopkinton Farmer’s Market will run every Sunday from June 16 through October 20 from 1-5pm and will be followed by the Summer Concert Series on the Common beginning at 5pm when the market ends. The band for the June 16th Concert on the Common will be Help, a Beatles tribute band.

The Hopkinton Market is sponsored by Hopkinton Drug, Home Instead Senior Care, Bartlett Electrical Services, Golden Pond Assisted Living and Razor’s Edge.
