July in Pictures

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

July was another busy month in Hopkinton with many fun activities for the entire family to enjoy. As America celebrated the 4th of July, Hopkinton held the Horribles Parade down Main Street. The parade has been a Hopkinton tradition for over 80 years and features floats that poke fun at Hopkinton issues. This year's theme focused on downtown revitalization.

Also providing some family fun, Sunday Concerts on the Common. This month featured Beatles cover band Nowheremen and southern rockers Stillburnin. And kids got a taste of what Grandma and Grandpa do every day at the Senior Center at the 6th annual "Bring a Little Friend Day".

Summer is also a popular time to for construction. On the week of July 16th, construction crews were busy repaving both Grove Street and Hayden Rowe, as well as paving part of the new Legacy Farms road.

There were also several accidents this month including a two car crash on Teresa and Nicholas Roads which sent two people to the hospital. Another two people were hospitalized after a crash on Main and Pleasant Streets and a lightning storm on the 18th caused a small brush fire after wires came down on Carriage Hill Road.

HCAM was also a busy place in and out of the studio. YMCA campers spent two weeks learning how to produce a movie from start to finish. And new episodes of Physician Focus and Absolutely Yoga were also filmed. To see and read about many of these stories in greater detail, visit the HCAM website.
