Little Redsox Nation at Elmwood School

By Stephanie Kane, News Producer

As the Boston Red Sox prepared to take on the St. Louis Cardinals in the first game of the World Series on October 23rd, Elmwood students were eager to cheer them on. In honor of the game later that night, Elmwood students were encouraged to show support for the team by dressing up in Red Sox apparel that day for school. Popular jerseys included David Ortiz, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Clay Buchholz, and Dustin Pedroia. There was even some friendly competition as a Yankees fan and a Sox fan sat side by during lunch. And of course no Red Sox spirit day would be complete without the team's signature beards. And even those who didn't dress up, still were excited to root for the Sox.

Elmwood students sure got their wish as all that support helped propel the Sox to a 8-1 victory over the Cardinals.
