"We are all excited about our collaboration with Keefe Tech in presenting the MSO's Fall Concert, "Divas, Dictators and the Duke." This type of collaboration is at the core of community support for the Arts and showcases the talents of the Keefe Tech student body and the MSO and Berklee musicians. This promises to be a great concert," said Diane Hartung, MSO President.

Since forming a partnership with Keefe Tech in 2010, the MSO holds most of their practices and concerts in the Keefe auditorium. According to Keefe Tech Superintendent-Director Jim Lynch, “Keefe Regional Technical School is a community resource and we are thrilled to have formed a partnership with the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra. Music and the arts are recent initiatives for our students and staff. We now offer Dance Club and Theater Club as well as Band and Chorus. The MSO augments our in-house efforts by bringing quality performances to our school and surrounding school communities. I welcome the community to our school and thank the MSO.”

Keefe Tech students from various Career and Technical programs will help to make the concert an enjoyable event. Students from Culinary Arts will prepare and serve pastries and soft drinks during intermission and after the concert. Students from the Design and Visual Communications department have participated in a competition to create a design for the cover of the concert’s program. Twelve designs have been submitted to the MSO for their review and selection. Keefe Tech may also provide printing services for the concert program through their Graphic Communications department. Additionally, 15 volunteers from Keefe’s Leadership Through Service program will work as greeters and ushers during the concert.

Dr. Peter Cokkinias, MSO Conductor noted, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Keefe Technical School, Rene Pfister, Voice Instructor at Berklee College of Music and Kathrine Waters, and their talented students. We invite the public to come out and join us for what we know will be a great evening.”

Concert tickets will be available at the door for $15 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors, and children under 12 will be admitted free.

Located at 750 Winter Street in Framingham, Keefe Regional Technical School is a four-year public high school accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition to 15 Career and Technical programs, Keefe Tech offers a complete college preparatory and honors academic program to students from the communities of Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton and Natick.
