Parks and Recreation Halloween Party a Success

By Michelle Murdock, Freelance Writer

Elmwood School's gym was transformed into a Halloween party on October 28th. The party, which the Parks and Recreation Department has sponsored for the past 14 years, gave Hopkinton's youngsters a chance to dress up in character and have some fun. From Dalmatians, to pumpkins, to bumblebees and owls, the kids got really into the spirit of the holiday. At the party, there were many games setup for the kids to play such as ball toss and bean bag toss. And the prize for winning?...candy. And the biggest highlight of the night?... donut eating.

Because the party has been an annual tradition for 14 years, many of the high-schoolers who ran the activity booths remember coming to the event as a child.

Parks and Recreation Director Mike Preite is especially thankful for everyone who pitched in to make the night a success.
