As the November 6th election day nears, there are some key deadlines to be aware of in order to be eligible to vote. The first is October 17th, the last day to register to vote.

Also, November 5th, the day before the election, is the last day absentee ballot applications will be accepted. There is a noontime deadline for getting those in on that day and applications can be found on and downloaded from the town's website.

Another component to ensuring that you can vote on Election Day is checking to see if you are on the inactive voter list. There are a variety of different ways to check to see if you are on the list. According to Town Clerk Ann Click, lists of active and inactive voters are now available at the Woodville Post Office, the Main Post Office in the center of town, the Library and the Faith Community Church. Inactive voters should contact the Town Clerk to avoid voting delays at the November 6th General Election.

And remember, the last day to register to vote or to change party enrollment for the State General Election is Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Office hours at the Town Clerk's officce are extened until 8PM on that day.

The State General Election is Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Polls will be open from 6:30AM - a half hour earlier than ususal - to 8PM at the Hopkinton Middle School.
