Students Receive Awards from Hopkinton Women's Club

For over 50 years, The Hopkinton Women's Club's Scholarship Fund has awarded scholarships to high school students. And at a luncheon at the Hopkinton Country Club on April 25th, four students were recognized and received scholarships for their academic achievements, leadership skills, and dedication to the community.

Senior Olivia Turner and Junior Talia Patapoutian were honored for having the highest GPA's in their respective grades. Senior Katrina Parsons won the Mary McDonough Community Service Award for her volunteerism. And sophomore Lauren Mechler was also recognized at the ceremony. Before the students received their awards, Women's Club President Yvette Madany relayed some interesting anecdotes about each of them.

For this year's honorees, the secret to their success is simple; do what you love.

Recent past president Jane Anderson enjoyed herself at the luncheon. She is now taking on the role as membership chair for the club, and hopes that other's get involved and help make a difference in the community.

Since its inception in 1954, the Scholarship Fund has awarded over 600 students more than $375,000 in scholarship money. To get involved with the Women's Club, you can visit their website.
