Richard Corcoran of the Hopkinton Fire Department who designed the brand new Engine #3 talked to HCAM News about the design;
"It's considered a tanker but it is multi-functional. It carries 350 gallons of foam, it's got large pump capacity so it's capable of pumping a great amount of water." The new truck carries 750 gallons more of water than the truck it will be replacing. The new apparatus also features a 475 horse engine, automatic transmission. The truck can drop water from all three sides automatically from the cab.
