Video Segment: Hopkinton Drug donates to Mass Animal Coalition

By Tom Nappi, News Director

The Massachusetts Animal Coalition received a $3,000 donation at their annual meeting and 10 year anniversary celebration from Hopkinton Drug. Each year Hopkinton Drug donates to the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) to help their cause of promoting collaboration with professionals in Animal Welfare.

President of Hopkinton Drug Dennis Katz talked about how the funds were raised for the donation: "We give a portion of every single prescription we fill for a veterinarian." Katz mentioned that the donation helps MAC with their news letter and spay/neutering program. Founder of MAC Anne Lindsay is gracious for the partnership and the donation from Hopkinton Drug. She mentioned that the partnership is also an effort to help people understand that compounding medication for their animals could make it much easier to administer. Hopkinton Drug assists with the compounding medication efforts.

Lindsay talked about the 10 year anniversary of MAC and talked about how the organization was celebrating the 10th year of the animal friendly license plate. The License Plate is a Massachusetts specialty license plate which raises up to $190,000 a year for MAC to grant out to organizations that have affective spay/neuter programs in the state.
