Video: Sky's the Limit Middle School Courtyard Opening Ceremony

By Tom Nappi, News Director

The results were unveiled of the Sky's the Limit Middle School courtyard project. Leader of the project, Hopkinton Middle School Assistant Principal Maryellen Grady cut the ribbon to officially open the Courtyard. The project has been in the works for nearly 5 years. The Hopkinton Education foundation played a large role in the project and over $30,000 was donated from the Desroches family, in memory of Shayne Desroches. Shayne passed away at the age of 13 in September 2013 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Assistant Principal Grady mentioned that she had been pushing the project since her first day on the job. Grady mentioned she was very appreciative to the community and donors who helped or donated to the project; "it was a large community effort".

Members of Shayne's family, members of the Hopkinton Education foundation as well as students who helped with the project took part in the ribbon cutting along with Assistant Principal Maryellen Grady and Principal Alan Keller.
