On the August 25th edition of HCAM News at 6:30pm, we look back at a few great happenings over the past few months and we have the latest Hiller sports update, but first we look back to June were a couple Scouts were recognized for being awarded eagle scout honors.

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) is pleased to announce that it will host “Displacement”, an art exhibition welcoming and celebrating immigrants through storytelling.

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton August 15th through August 21st was 92.9 degrees, the lowest was 52.2 degrees. Average temperature during the week in Hopkinton was 71.9 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 65%, the peak was 96% while the lowest was 28%. Rain accumulated 0.03 inches last week.

The Hopkinton Women’s Club will be holding its monthly meeting on Monday, September 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hopkinton Public Library beginning with a social gathering and followed by our meeting and program.

Connor Degan, Democratic candidate for Massachusetts State Representative, 8th Middlesex District, has been formally endorsed by former congressional candidate and longtime advocate Jesse Mermell.

In celebration of International Dog Day, dog lovers are invited to gather for fun activities and doggie spa services at Greyhound Friends’ adoption shelter, located at 167 Saddle Hill Road in Hopkinton, from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, August 27.

The Hopkinton Select Board has called a Special Town Meeting to be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022. The Special Town Meeting 2022 will be held at the Hopkinton High School Athletic Center (gymnasium) and commence at 7:00 pm.

The meeting will air on HCAM-TV and our Youtube page and can be found below. The 1 Article on the agenda approves an additional $850,000 for an addition to Marathon Elementary School.

The Hillers this past spring finished the regular season 11 and 9 and won 2 playoff games before falling 7 to 6 in a great battle versus Mansfield in the State Quarter-finals.

The Hillers dealt with COVID-19 issues, injuries to key players but still managed to make some noise in the playoffs and have a great season. Head Coach, Steve Simoes announced that this would be his last season and sat down with us to talk about last season, his career and future plans.
