Two Degrees of Expression Exhibit in Hopkinton

For the second exhibition of its second season, the new Hopkinton Center for the Arts Gallery presents two established artists who have developed their work in the nearby Holliston Mill studios. "Two Degrees of Expression", featuring paintings by Arlene Chaplin and woodcuts by Laurie Leavitt, runs October 17 through November 25 at the HCA Gallery, 98 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton, MA. A reception for the artists and the public will be held at the gallery on Friday, October 21 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

eHop hosting Public Forum Regarding Water Supply

Amidst continuing extreme drought conditions, eHop has announced that it will hold a public forum titled, eHop’s Spotlight on Water (http://ehop01748.org/tag/ehop-spotlight/) on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 9:45 am – 11 :00 am at Bittersweet, 28 Main Street, Hopkinton. Hopkinton is 20” below normal levels of precipitation and the town’s dense bedrock is hindering the underground flow of limited water. As a result, some private wells are running dry and the town is readying its backup wells.

Faith Community Church is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse for Christmas Child Program

Faith Community Church is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to help supply gift-filled shoe boxes for children around the world through their Operation Christmas Child Program.
Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind and because of the generosity of people they have collected and delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.

Water-Sewer Department Report Water Main Break on Briarcliff Drive

Please be advised that due to a major water main break on Briarcliff drive, you may be experiencing air and discoloration in your water. The department has isolated and shut down the affected pipe and pressure should be returning to normal. It may take several hours for the water to clear up. We ask that you Periodically check you water and you may have to let your cold water faucet flush to clear your pipes internally.

Hopkinton Police Actively Investigating Crash Involving Pedestrians

The Hopkinton Police are actively investing a motor vehicle crash in the area of 112 Hayden Rowe Street. At 10:03 am our communications center received multiple calls reporting a crash at this location. One of the callers was a mother reporting her children had been struck by a vehicle while she was pushing the stroller across the street. She also reported that her son was bleeding from his head.

Town of Hopkinton’s Public Library seeks Part-Time (Up to 10 Hours per Week) Library Technician

The Library Technician will perform all tasks related to the daily operations of the Library and the circulation desk. Assists in opening and closing of the Library. Retrieves and checks in all Library materials from the drop off boxes outside the Library. Collects overdue and lost item fines, handles on-line museum pass reservation requests, provides assistance to patrons locating materials, resolves patron account related issues and answers phone inquiries. This position requires working on every other Saturday starting from December of 2016, and ending in early June of 2017.
