All Invited to St. Paul’s Ash Wednesday Services February 18

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will mark the beginning of the Lenten Season with an Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist at 7:00 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, February 18. All are welcome to attend.

St. Paul’s is located at 61 Wood Street/Rte. 135, Hopkinton, and is called to be an embracing, nourishing and life-giving community in Christ. Hillers Cheer to Host Beer and Wine Gala

The Friends of Hiller Competitive Cheer is sponsoring a Beer and Wine Gala to benefit our National Champion Hiller Cheerleaders on Feb 28th. It will be a great event and an opportunity to socialize with friends, family and neighbors. The will be a raffle and prizes! Please tell share this with you social network!! It will be a great time! The love of your life is waiting for you here, or at Baypath Humane Society. Maxwell is a love bug who wants nothing more than to curl up on your lap or to while away the afternoon playing with toys. He'll do best with older children and gets along with most kitties.

The adoption fee is waived for Maxwell through Valentine's Day!

Alzheimer's Disease for Caregivers

Staff from Hopkinton Health Center, Geriatric and Adult Day Care, will present on Alzheimer's Disease for Caregivers at the Hopkinton Public Library on Wednesday, February 11 at 7:00 PM. Lori-ann Sumner has a Master's degree in Social Work and diplomas in Whole Health Education and Wellness Coaching. She will provide an informative session for caregivers on symptoms of Alzheimer's, behavior changes, skill development and self care for caregivers, options, and resources.

HESBC Narrows Sites List

The Hopkinton Elementary School Building Committee (ESBC) on February 4, 2015, voted unanimously to approve a short list of site alternatives for further evaluation. As part of the Center School Feasibility Study, funding for which was approved by Town Meeting in May 2013, the Committee has been evaluating 11 alternatives at 4 locations.

These 11 alternatives and related evaluation criteria were the subject of two recent ESBC community workshops.

Over the coming weeks, the ESBC will perform additional due diligence of the following site alternatives (the short list):

Keefe Tech Drama Club Presents Peter Pan Feb 27 & 28

The Keefe Regional Technical High School Drama Club will present their production of Peter Pan, based on the novel by J.M. Barrie and adapted by Craig Sodaro, on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 7:00 pm and on Saturday, February 28 at 2:00 pm in the school auditorium located at 750 Winter Street in Framingham.

The performance is open to the public and tickets will be available at the door at $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for senior citizens and children under 12.

Hopkinton Garden Club Speaker Series February 17, 2015

On Tuesday, February 17th, Barbara McPhee will join us to present “The Buzz on Honeybees – A Fascinating Study”. Barbara has been a beekeeper for over 30 years and cares for six hives, an observation hive and five government research hives. In this lecture, Barbara will introduce you to the honeybee's world - their family, their home, and their work. Our honeybee population is undergoing tremendous stress leading to great declines in their numbers.
