Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) John Polanowicz today announced the launch of an innovative new program that will help detect and prevent provider fraud, waste and abuse in real-time, by freezing payments to providers with suspicious claims, until they are investigated.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced Wednesday that West Nile virus (WNV) was detected in a mosquito collected in Holliston. According to a press release from Ann McCobb, Holliston’s Health Director, crews from the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) sprayed on Wednesday and are planning continued mosquito control efforts.
West nile virus (WNV) is transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito, but by taking precautions, people can help to protect themselves.

Hopkinton's Relay for Life begins on Friday, June 21 at 6:00PM at the Hopkinton Middle School. To date, 75 teams and 724 participants have pledged over $116,000 to help fight cancer.

The Pink Warriors Relay for Life Team is holding fundraiser on Tuesday, May 7 from 5-8PM at Bill's Pizza. Ten percent (10%) of sales will be donated by Bill's PIzza to Relay for Life, but make sure you let them know that you are there for the fundraiser. To date, the team has raised a total of $715 and is working towards their goal of $3,000.
