Richard R. Brault, 95

Richard R. Brault, 95, a Hopkinton veteran who served in the battles of Okinawa, Tinian, and Saipan, died peacefully on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Dr. Norbert R. and Florence (Chartrand) Brault. After his junior year of high school, Richard joined the US Marine Corps.

Patricia M. Grogan, 82

Patricia M. Grogan, 82, of Westborough, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Francis J. Grogan.

Born in Mattapoisett, MA, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Ethel C. (Raymond) Merchant. Patricia graduated from Southborough High School and received an associates degree in business from Quinsigamond Community College.

Patricia was employed in the customer service department at Anderson Products prior to her retirement. She was also a member of the Steel Workers Union.

Karen Harvey Cox, 72

Karen Harvey Cox, 72 of Hopkinton, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly at home on January 6th. She is survived by her husband Edwin B. Cox Jr. of 33 years, daughters Ashley Cox of Hopkinton, MA and Sarah Cole and husband Michael Cole of Cary, NC. Along with her joy, three grands RJ and Brayden Gibson and Logan Cole. Also survived by her mother, Doris Harvey; sister, Susan Ann and husband, Bob Messier and niece Martha, Sister Lynne and Husband Steve Drinkwater.

Ethan Andrew Bagge, 22

Ethan Andrew Bagge, age 22, of Holliston, passed away on December 18, 2020. Born in Boston, he was the son of Ruthanne Schill and Michael Bagge and brother to Nathaniel Bagge, all of Holliston. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Lovingly known as “E”.

Ethan loved music, hockey(Demons Hockey Team), tennis, hiking and camping. A profound writer and philosopher with an artistic soul, Ethan will be deeply missed by those who loved him…his family, friends, teammates, roommates and camping buddies…and he loved them back.

Barbara F. Strickler, 86

Barbara F. Strickler, 86, of Hopkinton, passed away on December 11, 2020. Born in Bergen, New Jersey, she was the only child of the late Bertha (Kluger) and David Fogelman. She was the wife of 57 years to the late Lawrence J. (Jerry) Strickler.

Carleen B. Hageman, 85

Carleen B. Hageman, 85, of Belmont, NH and Fort Myers Beach, FL, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020. Born in Middletown, CT, she was the daughter of the late Thera (Mitchell) and Carleton Bircher. She was the wife of 50 years to the late Charles W. Hageman.

Joanne M. Phipps, 74

Joanne M. Phipps, 74, of Hopkinton died Monday, November 23, 2020 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence “Butch” Phipps to whom she was married for over 40 years. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Max” Carey and Mary (McDonough) Carey.

Joanne graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1964 and retired from the Southborough Post Office after 27 years. She had a passion for horses, coached cheerleading and was heavily involved in the Boosters and community groups such as The Friends of Hopkinton.
