Joanne M. Phipps, 74

Joanne M. Phipps, 74, of Hopkinton died Monday, November 23, 2020 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence “Butch” Phipps to whom she was married for over 40 years. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Max” Carey and Mary (McDonough) Carey.

Joanne graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1964 and retired from the Southborough Post Office after 27 years. She had a passion for horses, coached cheerleading and was heavily involved in the Boosters and community groups such as The Friends of Hopkinton.

Robert Henry Marlette, 81

Robert Henry Marlette of Hopkinton, died peacefully on November 3, 2020 after living a full, rich life for 81 years. Bob was born in Oneonta, NY, the son of Herbert Theodore and Mildred Mabel Mather Marlette. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 42 years, Marilyn (Krause) and his first wife, Sarah (Pierce) Dragt. He was the devoted and adoring father to eight children: Laurie (Don) Rasbridge, John (Sheryl) Marlette, Jeff (Debi) Marlette, Tom (Kim) Marlette, Lynne Marlette, Gillian (Gennaro) DellaCioppa, Scott Marlette and Lisa (Gavin) Grant.

Joseph Kenney, 67

Joseph Kenney, 67, a long-time resident of Hopkinton, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Born in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of Grace (Sarcino) Kenney of Northborough, and the late John Kenney. Joe grew up in Framingham and was a 1971 graduate of Framingham High School. For 39 years, he was the loving husband of Linda E. (Whapham) Kenney of Hopkinton.

Rick Odell, 62

Rick Odell, 62, a longtime resident of Hopkinton, passed away Oct. 18 after a battle with cancer. He passed at his home in Southwick, surrounded by his loved ones.

Richard was born in Summit, New Jersey, to Shirley J. (King) Odell (now of Southwick) and the late Ellsworth I. Odell Jr. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy R. Odell-Liupakka, in 1987.

Daniel Shea, 60

Daniel Shea, 60, of Ashland, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Tufts Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of the late Irene (Skubel) and John Shea. He was the husband of 29 years to Amy (Wright) Shea of Ashland.

Antoine “Tony” O’Baoill, 69

Antoine “Tony” O’Baoill, 69, of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 9, 2020. Born in Dublin Ireland, he was the son of Margaret (O’Reilly) and Anthony Boyle. Tony was raised and spent most of his childhood in Finglas, Dublin, Ireland.

Tony was a renaissance man. He was an avid hiker, outdoorsmen, car enthusiast, voracious reader, and an excellent chef. His travels took him all over the world, often returning to Ireland to visit family and friends. He spent most of his professional life in the automotive industry.

Ann Louise Forrest, 87

Ann Louise Forrest, 87, of Hopkinton, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Mabel (Melanson) and Richard Doucette. She was the wife of the late Kenneth David Forrest.

Ann had worked for the telephone company until 1967. She was an active daily participant at St. John the Evangelist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her yard, especially her plants and flowers.

Thomas Joseph Ellam, 72

Thomas Joseph Ellam, 72, of Hopkinton, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Clinton, MA, he was the son of the late Katharine (Durkin) and Joseph H. Ellam. He leaves behind his wife, Susan Stevens of Hopkinton, his daughter, Sarah Stevens Ellam and her husband, Leigh Walker, of Hopkinton, and their two daughters, Rhys Ellam Walker and Tessa Ellam Walker, his son, Matthew Stevens Ellam and his partner, Deanna Meeske, of Boston, and his son Timothy Stevens Ellam and his wife, Shannon, of Everett.

Joanne M. (Powell) Ouellet, 75

Joanne M. (Powell) Ouellet, 75, of Milford and formerly of Hopkinton passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 with her family by her side, after a short period of declining health. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Irene (Shaw) Powell and is survived by her brother Daniel (Ted) Powell and his wife, Diane of Upton. She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, James C. Ouellet.

Mary Wise, 84

Mary Wise, age 84, of Hopkinton, MA, formerly of Natick, passed away with her family by her side on September 14, 2020, after entering hospice care in early June.
