The School Committee met Monday, July 14th to discuss multiple budget, policy, and evaluation matters pertinent to the upcoming school year.

At the start of the meeting, Tim Kearnan presented to the committee as the new principal of Hopkins school. Mr. Kearnan gave his background and stated his goals for the upcoming school year. Superintendent MacLeod updated the committee on a grant for new LED lighting around the schools, and Ralph Dumas updated the committee on the RFP process and the exciting new allocation of funds in that area.

The School Committee heared technology recommendations from Ashoke Ghosh, Technology Director for the Hopkinton School District.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tim Kearnan as Principal of Hopkins Elementary School. Mr. Kearnan has already proven himself an excellent school leader in his role as Assistant Principal at the school and he is dedicated to continuing the work taking place to advance the academic, social-emotional and community mission.

Elmwood Principal David Ljungberg released statement about Monday Morning Break in;

There will be a Common Core Public Forum held by Superintendent Dr. Cathy MacLeod on Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 PM. The program will take place in the Middle School Library and will air live on HCAM-TV. The purpose of the forum is to highlight the benefits of the new Common Core standard.

So far, over 170 Hopkinton educators will be receiving Thank You letters on behalf of Hopkinton students this June. Would you like your child's teacher to be among them?

The Thank-A-Teacher program is a great way to recognize your child's teacher and tell them that you appreciate all the work that they've done this year.

To participate, go to the Hopkinton Education Foundation website and download this form. Thank-A-Teacher donations can be mailed until June 13th.

Members of the Hopkinton School Committee will be available for an office hour on Monday, June 16th to provide residents with an opportunity to attend and ask questions or give feedback regarding current school-related issues.
