Video: Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey Update

Hillers Field Hockey took on Dedham on September 6th. The game was a good defensive battle and ended in a 0-0 tie.

On September 9th, the Hillers Field Hockey team hosted Hopedale. Vani Sharma and Sarah Doyle each netted a goal and Megan White netted a pair of goals in the 4-0 win.The Hillers would fall in their next game on Wednesday September 11th 4-0 vs Westwood.

On Wednesday (9/4), the Hopkinton Hillers defeated Medfield by way of the Sweep in their Season Opener. Hillers the first 3 matches (25-13, 25-18, 25-10).

Cadyn Boyce (JR) - 9 Kills, 7 Digs, Angie Grabmeier (SR) - 5 Kills, 6 Digs, Kate Powers (SO) - 5 Aces, 2 Digs, 3 Kills, Morgan Allen (SR) - 18 Digs, 2 Aces.

Video: Hopkinton Hillers Football 2019-2020 Preview

Last season, the Hopkinton Hillers finished the regular season 4 and 3 and took down Nauset in the Quarterfinals of the South Division 4 Sectionals before falling to Milton in the Semi-Finals. The Hillers finished 7 and 4 overall.

This year with 1st year Head Coach, long time Assistant Coach, Dan MacLean at the helm, the Hillers look to get back to the playoffs and make some noise this season.

The Hillers lost a number of key players from last year but have some good experienced Captains in Luke MacDonald, Max Lacascia, Zach Levy and Robby Bernardin.

Knights of Columbus – Bishop Rice Council 4822 (Ashland/Hopkinton) To Sponsor Youth Soccer Challenge Competition

All boys and girls ages 9-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2019 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. The local competition will be held September 14th from 2 pm to 5:30 pm at the ball fields behind Hopkinton Middle School, 88 Hayden Rowe Street, Hopkinton MA 01748.

Video: Richard Cormier talks about becoming new Hopkinton HS Athletic Director

Mendon resident, Richard Cormier is the new Athletic Director at Hopkinton High School. For the last 3 years he served as the Athletic Director at Foxboro High School and the 12 years before that as the Head Coach of Boys Basketball and a Teacher at Norwood.

Rich mentioned that the move will allow him to spend more time with his family. "The ability to be a little bit closer to home, run home and see my kids before a night game is definitely appealing on a personal level."

Video: Planning Board Vacancy, Greyhound Friends Kennel License Approved, Post 77 Raises Banner

-The Planning Board is looking for someone to fill a vacancy on the board. the term would last until the may 2020 election. Those interested should be a registered voter in Hopkinton and apply online by Tuesday august 27th. you can find more details on our website.

-Greyhound Friends recently released a press release stating that they were approved by the town for a kennel license. Greyhound Friends still has to be approved by the State to officially open. The facility is under new leadership.
