Hopkinton Fire Department Ambulance Service First in Region to Implement the Selective Spinal Assessment Protocol

Following several hours of training with Hopkinton Fire Department Medical Director Dr. Jeff Hopkins, along with many hours of development of a thorough operating guideline by Lt. Gary Daugherty, the Hopkinton Fire Department ambulance service became the first service in the region to get medical approval from Milford Hospital to implement the Selective Spinal Assessment Protocol.

Big First Win for Boys Cross Country

The Boys Cross Country team pulled off a big win in their first meet of the season against Westwood on Wednesday, September 4 with Hopkinton at 19 and Westwood at 44. Top three runners for Hopkinton were Kyle Driscoll, Evan Park, and Jack Cote.

According to Coach Fairbanks, the times were slow for a few reasons; 1) it was a 3.1 mile course which is longer than what the team is used to, 2) the Hillers didn't run until 5pm, 3) it was the first day of school, and 4) the course is easy to get lost on.

Football Fundraiser for B+ and LiveForEvan

The Hopkinton Athletic Department is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Fundraising Football Scrimmage on Friday, September 6th at 6:30 p.m.

We will asking for an admission/donation of $3 per student and $5 per adult for the game vs North Middlesex High School.
All of the proceeds from the game will be donated to local organizations named in honor of former Hopkinton High School students Evan Girardi and Tommy Weaver.

Youth Block Party September 27

Activate Youth Ministry (AYM) will host its sixth annual Block Party for 6th-12th graders on Friday, Sept. 27, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Connect Community Church located at 280 Pleasant St. Ashland, MA 01721.

AYM host this free event every year to offer local kids in Ashland and surrounding towns a safe place to gather and have a great time.

Traffic Advisory for Jimmy Fund Walk

On Sunday, September 8, 2013 thousands of individuals will walk the Boston Marathon route for the 25th Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.

Walkers will start to arrive in Hopkinton at 5 AM and begin their “rolling-start” shortly afterwards. The walkers arrival and departure ending time is expected to be 8 AM.

Ash St. from Park St. to Main St., as well as Marathon Way will be detoured during this event.

Parking spaces on both sides of Main St. from Ash St. to Hayden Rowe St. will be coned off.
