Weather Trends in Hopkinton: January 6th-12th 2020

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton January 6th-12th was 70.7 degrees, the lowest was 19 degrees. Average temperature during the week in Hopkinton was 39.2 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 71%, the peak was 94% while the lowest was 31%. Rain accumulated 0.13 inches last week. Community Notice: Roadwork Tuesday 1-14-2020 on Wood and West Main St.

Please be advised that the water department will be investigating a potential water leak at the intersection of Wood and West Main Street tomorrow 1/14/2020 starting at 9 AM. The West Main Street, Westbound lane at the lights will be closed and detoured down Wood Street and up Elm during the work. Detail officers will be in place to facilitate traffic. We ask you to please plan ahead. Please see the attached sketch.

Voter Registration Deadline

Tomorrow, January 14, 2020, is the last day to register to vote in the Special Town Election on Monday, February 3, 2020. To ensure those wishing to register can do so, the Town Clerk's Office will be open until 8:00 PM tomorrow night to accept affidavits of voter registration which we will have available in the office at 18 Main Street. You may also register online at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/.

Hopkinton Trails Club Event

Sunday, January 19, 1:00PM: Fruit Street trails walk. Join us for a 2+/- mile walk (or snowshoe/ski) on the Mary Pratt trails (North and South) at the town's Fruit St. property. Our route will follow mostly level or gently sloping trails, and the footing is easy. We'll pass through pine forests, along vernal pools and wetlands, across an old gravel pit returning to meadow, and along the edge of the athletic fields.

Video: Hopkinton Growth Study Committee Hosts 2nd Public Forum

The Hopkinton Growth Study Committee hosted their 2nd public forum at the Hopkinton Senior Center this past Thursday. Committee Member, Chuck Joseph presented some facts about the growth of Hopkinton and how it compares to other towns before the attendees broke into group sessions to discuss various needs of the town.
