Hopkinton Growth Study Committee Workshop

The public is invited to join us on Thursday, January 9 at 1:00 PM at the Senior Center (snow date 1/23/20). Come see what the Growth Committee has been up to this year. We’ve learned a lot and are eager to hear from residents. At the workshop we'll share what we’ve learned so far and what the data is telling us. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share your ideas to help us more forward with our work. The Growth Study Committee is a new sub-committee of the Planning Board this year.

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton December 8th-14th was 58.5 degrees, the lowest was 33.2 degrees. Average temperature during the week in Hopkinton was 44.7 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 96%, the peak was 98% while the lowest was 79%. Ronald Benjamin Cobb, 71

Ronald Benjamin Cobb, 71, of Milford, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Milford Regional Medical Center. Born at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was the son of the late Nettie “Marie” Guerin (nee Kearce) and Johnnie Benjamin Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Julia (Beverage) Cobb of Milford.

Over 700 voters were in attendance for a Special Town Meeting that took place on Monday December 9th due to a citizens petition. Six articles were on the docket, Article 1 was the citizens petition which served the purpose of attempting to stop the Main Street Corridor Project. The article looked to rescind the vote of Article 47 from the 2018 Annual Town Meeting which allowed the Town to utilize or negotiate for easements as part of the project. The group who filed the Citizens Petition called the Main Street Alliance spoke first.

Charles Francis Lowell, 76

Charles Francis Lowell, 76, of Hopkinton, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Hamm) and Charles Theodore Lowell. He was married to the love of his life, Donna Irene (Wright) Lowell for 53 years, this month.
