Video: Board of Selectmen Recognize 3 Town Employees

At Tuesdays Board of Selectmen meeting, Selectmen recognized Director of Youth & Family Services, Denise Hildreth, Principal Assessor, John Neas and Director of Public Works, John Westerling.

Last season, Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey finished the regular season with 15 wins, 5 losses and a tie and earned the TVL crown along with Dover-Sherborn. Hopkinton went on to the playoffs and won 2 games but fell to Somerset Berkley in the Quarter finals to finish 17-6 and 1 overall.

After winning their 1st game 2-1 hosting Ashland on Tuesday September 4th, on Tuesday September 11th, Hopkinton Hillers Field Hockey improved to 2 and 0 with a 4-0 win over Bellingham. I caught up with the team captains and 13th year Head Coach, Joan Bannon after the game.

Board of Selectmen Recommend to Not Support Greyhound Friends License

On Tuesday Night, in-front of a packed house at the HCAM studios, the Board of Selectmen unanimously agreed to recommend to the Town Clerk that a new license not be issued to Greyhound Friends. Selectmen heard from both sides during a scheduled public hearing that took nearly two and a half hours.

Video: Weston Nurseries Hosts 2nd Annual Blooms, Brews & BBQ to Benefit Jimmy Fund

Weston Nurseries hosted their 2nd annual Blooms, Brews and BBQ event this past Saturday. The proceeds will be donated toward the annual Jimmy Fund Walk. Leading up to the event, Weston Nurseries had raised over $90,000 for the Jimmy Fund. Below is a look at the fun filled afternoon.

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton September 1st through September 8th was 93.9 degrees, the lowest was 50.6 degrees. Average temperature during the month in Hopkinton was 73 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 80.1%, the peak was 98% while the lowest was 46%. Wind Speed averaged 1.9 MPH, while reaching a high of 10 MPH. Rain accumulated 0.9 inches last week in Hopkinton. Live4Evan 5k Run+Fun Oktoberfest

This year's Live4Evan 5k will see a lot of changes including a certified course that ends at EMC park. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in this annual fundraiser for the organization, which provides temporary housing for families of children with congenital heart disease. Food trucks, an animal show for kids and a beer garden for adults will join perennial favorites like the Cornhole Tourney and LiveTough, the obstacle course for kids after the race. The Boston Naturals will provide live music as part of the festivities.
