"My kids say Gretta has human's eyes. Her eyes tell you stories of her life, she has been there done that, she has seen a lot yet she still opens to love. Gretta is super playful and likes squeaky toys and rope toys.

-The Hopkinton Hillers Varsity Girls Volleyball team earned their 4th shutout victory over Norwood on Friday to improve to 6 and 0 on the season. Hillers Volleyball is the last remaining undefeated team in the TVL.

-Hopkinton Hillers Varsity Football grabbed a 28-6 road win on Saturday (9/22) over Norwood. The Hillers are now 2 and 1 on the season.

Weather Trends in Hopkinton: September 15th-22nd 2018

According to the DPW weather station, the highest temperature reached in Hopkinton September 15th through 22nd was 89.5 degrees, the lowest was 49.4 degrees. Average temperature during the month in Hopkinton was 66.7 degrees. Humidity was at an average of 85.6%, the peak was 98% while the lowest was 46%. Wind Speed averaged 2 MPH, while reaching a high of 11 MPH. Rain accumulated 0.89 inches last week in Hopkinton. Middlesex Sheriff’s Office hosts National Institute of Corrections crisis intervention team (CIT) training

CHELMSFORD, Mass. – 26 Correctional professionals from a dozen agencies recently completed a week-long crisis intervention team (CIT) training course, Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian announced today.

The training – offered by the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Corrections (NIC) – is designed to provide officers and other correctional staff with the skills necessary to successfully interact and respond to individuals in custody with mental illness.

Prof. Eric Johnson from the UMass Dept. of Archaeology Discusses the Native American Artifacts at Historical Society

Please join the Hopkinton Historical Society, 168 Hayden Rowe, Saturday Oct. 13 at 11:00 am when Prof. Eric Johnson from the UMass Dept. of Archaeology discusses the Native American artifacts from the Cheney family collection. Prof. Johnson & his team have identified and inventoried the artifacts for us and will share their findings. We will have some of the artifacts on display that day. Also, if you have an item (stone, arrowhead, etc) you may have found and are curious about its origins, bring it along - one item only please.

The Friends of Whitehall will have their 14 th annual fall clean-up on Sat. Oct. 13th from 9 a.m.
until noon. Please join us at the boat landing at Whitehall State Park on Wood St (Rte.135) in
Hopkinton for a little fresh air, fun and work! Our goal will once again be to pick up trash and
debris from the trails and shoreline around Lake Whitehall. The lake and trails were heavily

Donald C. LaRoche, 80

Donald C. LaRoche, 80, of Hopkinton and formerly Holliston, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Golden Pond Assisted Living in Hopkinton. Don was the husband of 48 years to the late Angela M. (D’Aloia) LaRoche.

Don was a member of the Army Reserve and worked for 35+ years at Commonwealth Gas where he met his wife Angie. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a much-heralded pitching prospect at Bartlett High in Webster. Don and his family called Holliston home and enjoyed many summers along the Maine coastline (York and Kennebunk).
