Community Christmas Concert at St. Johns to raise money for the Mustard Seed Food Pantry Sunday 12/17

A community Christmas concert will take place at St. John the Evangelist located on 20 Church St. in Hopkinton on Sunday December 17th at 3pm. The concert will feature the Southeastern Massachusetts Community Concert Band and the St. John Children Choir. The concert is the 19th annual benefit concert for the Mustard Seed Food Pantry in Worcester, MA. Proceeds will benefit the food pantry. All are welcome especially families and little ones.

Hopkinton Garden Club Wreaths for Project Just Because

Volunteers from the Hopkinton Garden Club decorated holiday wreaths for beneficiaries of the Hopkinton based charity Project Just Because. Approximately two dozen wreaths were assembled and donated to Project Just Because for holiday deliveries. This annual wreath making program is one of several community projects sponsored by the Hopkinton Garden Club.

Margaret W. Kenney, 92

Margaret W. Kenney, 92, died December 8, 2017 at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham. She was the widow of William Kenney, who died in May 1988. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late William and Bridget (McCormack) Cloonan.

She was a 1943 graduate of Hopkinton High School and was employed as a secretary for the Town of Hopkinton for many years.

Joan Y. Comeau, 81

Joan Y. Comeau, 81, died suddenly December 7, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was the wife of Roy Comeau, to whom she was married for 59 years. Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late George F. Dumas and Mary J. (Maddox) Dumas Leontie.

Joan was a 1954 graduate of Hopkinton High School and lived in Hopkinton for many years, where she and Roy raised their family.

Sandra “Sandie” Pope, 69

Sandra “Sandie” Pope, 69, of Dennis passed away on November 28, following a cerebral hemorrhage, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in San Francisco, CA in 1948 to her late parents, John and Mildred “Mims” Kessler, Sandie spent her early years living in many places in the U.S. and Europe, as the daughter of a U.S. Air Force Officer.
