Hopkinton Education Foundation 3rd Annual Trivia Night

Please join the Hopkinton Education Foundation for our 3rd annual trivia night! The event will be held on Thursday, October 13th from 7-10 p.m. at the Woodville Rod and Gun Club (252 Wood Street, Hopkinton).

Please note your entire team members' names in the Comments Section.

Cost: $150/team, with a maximum of 6 people per team. Please send your check to: Hopkinton Education Foundation, PO Box 109, Hopkinton, MA 01748. Payment must be received by HEF by Friday, October 7th, in order to secure your team's spot.

Public Talks at the HCA

Since 2011 Mark Chester has photographed the faces of Massachusetts, documenting the smiles and hopeful eyes of newly naturalized citizens in the state’s towns and cities.

A series of public talks led by Mark Chester and Olga Kwasniewski, one of the photographed participants in his 5 year, will be held at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts gallery on the morning of Friday, September 16, at 9:10 a.m., 10 a.m., and 10:50 a.m., to accommodate area school students. A reception from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. will follow.

Athletic Field Report

This report is offered as an update to the preventative maintenance that was planned for this past summer, the unexpected challenges the department had to overcome, the efforts to resolve problems on fields 3 and 10, and long range plans for the upkeep of the Hopkinton Public Schools Athletic Fields.

St. John the Evangelist's 150th Anniversary Celebration

Tickets are now on sale for St. John the Evagelist's 150th Anniversary Celebration and Dinner at the Hilton Doubletree Hotel in Milford on Sunday, October 23 at 2:00 PM. In the morning, a celebratory Mass with Cardinal Sean O'Malley will take place at 10:00 AM at St. John's, followed by a reception at approximately 12:00 PM in the Parish Center Hall. All present and former parishioners, as well as friends of St. John's, are invited and welcome to attend, space permitting.

Missing Children Quickly Found Playing in the Neighborhood

The Hopkinton Police Department is happy to announce that 2 missing children were quickly located today after reports that they had not arrived at their bus stop. The children were found unharmed in their neighborhood.

At 10:23AM today, The Hopkinton Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call from the Hopkinton Center School reporting that 2 children were not present at school today. The children were determined to be missing during the early attendance check.

Hopkinton Hillers Sports Update September 13th

-The Medfield Warriors Girls Varsity Soccer team remained undefeated as they picked up a road win against the Hopkinton Hillers 2-0. The game was a defensive battle and a goal was not scored until late in the 2nd half. Both goals in the game were scored by Juniors, Margaret Hurley scored the first Medfield goal followed by a Taylor Sherman goal a few minutes later.

Hillers Boys Soccer picked up a win in their first game of the season as they shutout Ashland 4-0. Senior, Ben Fargiano and Sophomore, Michael Poovakad scored the two first half goals and then the Hillers added 2 more in the 2nd half, one off of a Duncan Schnur header and the other off of a Andrew Palleiko shot to run away with the victory. Hopkinton School Committee Opens Applications for "Athletic Fields Sub-Committee"

The Hopkinton School Committee is seeking applications for participation in an Athletic Fields Sub-Committee. The purpose of the Sub-Committee is to facilitate the development of a proposed athletic field master plan and make recommendations to the School Committee for any new capital projects. This will be a public committee and operate subject to the Open Meeting Law.

Hopkinton Historical Society to Honor Joe Colella

On Saturday October 1st at 7pm-9pm the Hopkinton Historical Society invites the public to come down for an open house. Refreshments will be provided by Marty's Fine Wines and the museum room will be dedicated to longtime Hopkinton resident, Joseph Colella. Colella passed away in December 2008 at the age of 87. Joe was a longtime member of the Hopkinton Historical Society and a beloved member of the community.
