Town of Hopkinton seeks Three Intermittent Laborers

The Town of Hopkinton seeks three Intermittent Laborers for 40 hours per week available to work between approximately May 16th through September 1st to perform the following duties:

• Lawn mowing
• Weed trimming
• Miscellaneous property cleanups
• Other maintenance-type related duties

Qualifications:
• Ability to drive a one-ton dump truck with trailer
• Prior experience with landscaping and/or maintenance
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

St. Paul’s Rummage Sale May 14

There will be bargains galore on clothing, toys, books, and other miscellaneous items at the St. Paul’s Rummage Sale on Saturday, May 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 61 Wood Street (Rte. 135) in Hopkinton.

Anyone wishing to donate items to the Rummage Sale is welcome to drop off items (with the exception of computers, TVs, microwaves or air conditioners) at the church Parish Hall on Thursday, May 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Friday, May 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Hop Swap is Back

Save the date! The Hop Swap returns on Saturday, May 7 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM at the High School Cafeteria. Hop Swap is a community-wide tag sale event to reuse children's clothing and items. Be green and save money for a great cause! Fill a bag for $15, or $10 if you donate items. All proceeds benefit the HPTA and HopMoms.

HMS Baseball feats Medfield

The HMS baseball team improved its recorded to 2-0 with a 7-1 victory over Medfield on Friday. Jack Wehle and Nate Bertucci-Bissonnette pitched well. Jack three one hit ball through 5 innings. Nate closed the door the final two innings. Drew Saporoschetz led the offensive attack. The team plays three games this week. Tuesday and Wednesday are home games.

Join Hopkinton Little League for the 2016 $5K Draw and Summer Luau Fundraiser

Join Hopkinton Little League and welcome in the new season! Hopkinton Little League is holding its annual fun-filled night out and fundraiser! This year we celebrate with a $5K Draw and Hawaiian Luau themed party at Woodville Rod and Gun Club on Friday May 20. From 7-11pm, enjoy music and dancing in your favorite luau garb. Candidates from 6 contested races in the Hopkinton Town Election will be asked questions for debate. The debate will air live on HCAM (Comcast Channel 8, Verizon Channel 30) or feel free to join the studio audience. The event will be Tuesday May 10th at 7pm until 9pm.

Candiates Include: Board of Selectmen, Town Moderator, Constable, Board of Health, Parks & Recreation, Town Clerk

Hopkinton Garden Club Plant Sale on May 14th Supports Civic Projects

The Hopkinton Garden Club will hold its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 14th from 8 a.m. to noon on the Town Common. Please stop by to choose from our wide selection of perennials from Club member gardens; perennials, annuals, herbs and vegetables from select wholesalers. To add some whimsy to your garden, we’re offering glass flower decorative art. The plant sale is a great opportunity to meet Club members and to learn about different varieties of plants. We look forward to sharing our enthusiasm about gardening and to helping you make good plant choices for your garden.
