Editorial: Supporting Ed McGrath and Janet Leombruno for Republican State Committee

I recently read a letter to the editor which asked "What should I think about Ed McGrath?" One should start with the simple fact that Governor Baker wholeheartedly endorsed Mr. McGrath and supports him 100%. Ed McGrath has recruited and worked with dozens of candidates for legislative and state-wide office including: Mary Z. Connaughton, Jon Fetherson, and Doug Grindle. Ed served as pro bono counsel for the Massachusetts GOP, oversaw re-count elections, and ran the regional volunteer call center for candidates up and down the ballot.

Ralph Adams Cram II, 74

Ralph Adams Cram II, 74, of Hopkinton, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016. Born in Concord, he was the son of the late Ann (Heath) and Ralph Wentworth Cram and was the grandson of Ralph Adams Cram (his namesake), and Elizabeth Strudwick. He was the husband of Sandra (Tremblay) Cram of Hopkinton.

Being a resident of Hopkinton since 2007, I have served the town in various ways as a volunteer for the Board of Health, the Hopkinton Veteran’s Celebration Committee, Baypath Humane Society, and the Hopkinton Women’s Club, to name a few.

Anne Carver selected as next Elmwood Elementary School Principal

Hopkinton Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Cathy MacLeod announced that current Elmwood Interim Principal, Anne Carver has accepted the Principal Position permanently. Carver has filled the role since David Ljungberg left to take a position in the School administration office in September. You can view the official announcement below.

Articles Now Being Accepted for Town Meeting

Hopkinton’s 2016 Annual Town Meeting will commence Monday, May 2, 2016. Please be advised that you can now submit articles to the Board of Selectmen/Town Manager's office. Per the Town Charter, the warrant period will close on March 2, 2016. Draft article wording should be submitted to the Selectmen’s Office or by email to mglynn@hopkintonma.gov for review of legal language by Town Counsel. Petition papers may be obtained and submitted at the Town Clerk's office during normal business hours.

Community Invited to meet Assistant Superintendent Finalist

A finalist for the position of Hopkinton Public Schools’ Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development has been selected.

Dr. Carol Cavanaugh: Dr. Cavanaugh holds a Ph.D. in Middle and High School Literacy Strategies from Lesley University, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University. Her undergraduate degree was in English, and was also awarded from Boston University.
